Daltonganj, Jan 31: A sub-zonal commander of the banned outfit Jharkhand Jan-Mukti Parishad (JJMP), Anil Bhuiyan alias Prakash alias Om Prakash alias Jay Prakash, surrendered today to the Daltonganj police.
Notably, he surrendered to a team of officers namely SP Palamu Chandan Kumar Sinha, Commandant 172 Bn N K Singh and Commandant 134 Bn Sudesh Kumar.
The rebel surrendered with a desi katta but claimed he used to handle deadly Ak 56 in the JJMP outfit. Moreover, he has three cases against him spanning over two police stations, Chainpur and Hussainabad.
Bhuiyan said he joined extremism in 2018 but cases against him began lodging by the police only in 2021 as for three years, he was an incognito extremist of the banned outfit.
The Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha credited the CRPF officials namely 172 Bn commandant N K Singh and 134 Bn commandant Sudesh Kumar for the surrender of Anil Bhuiyan.
SP said the CRPF followed Anil Bhuiyan and its two commandants Singh and Kumar did a wonderful job by disengaging a young rebel from the banned outfit to the mainstream of life.
Notably, It took six months to make him surrender and Anil Bhuiyan will be in the central jail in Daltonganj now. The rebel will be sent to the open jail in Hazaribagh after due permission from the state government.
As Anil Bhuiyan till the date of his surrender to law, is not a declared absconder by the court, hence post surrender benefits to him will have to be first screened by the authorities drawn from both the civil and police administrations.
Whether he had a change of heart and surrendered or he had a mortal fear of either being caught and jailed or getting killed in an encounter with the police, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said, “This rebel is highly mentally agile. He understands cost analysis. He knew the returns of his extremism is a peanut before his life and he opted to surrender.”
If the caste structure in the JJMP made him surrender as JJMP is ruled by Pappu Lohra and his favourites and this rebel is just a Bhuiyan to which SP said, “The rebel calculated his earnings by extremism and risk of life and knew the earnings by extremism is too meagre at the cost of living.”
