Jharkhand cabinet nod to bicycles for Class VIII to X students this year

Ranchi, Dec.1: The Jharkhand cabinet after its meeting today approved distribution of bicycles among the students which was due for the last two years.

Bicycles are given to students of the government schools in class VIII every year.  However, it was not given for the last two years. Thus those who did not get the bicycle due to non-distribution for the last two years will also get the same this year. It means this year students of class VIII to class X will get a bicycle at a time. A tender will be floated for the purchase of bicycles.

Cabinet co-ordination secretary Vandana Dadel while briefing the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting, said apart from approval of a proposal of cycle distribution for the students of class VIII to X at a time 36 other proposals were approved in the meeting.

Some of the important proposals approved include simplification of land acquisition process for construction of boundary wall around graveyards, amendments in rule for appointment of constables for India Reserve Battalion (IRB) and change in service condition for deployment of police officers in Central Para Military Forces (CMPF).

Other approvals included Rs 52.53 crore for collectorate building in Deoghar, Rs 136.37 crore for reclamation of land in Jhiri in Jharkhand capital, selection six agencies for issuance of Golden Card under PMJAY and extension of Textile, Apparel and Footwear police for one year or till formulation of new policy whichever is earlier.

Other approvals include transfer of land to railway for freight corridor, increase in scholarship from Rs 2000 to Rs 2500 per annum to the students residing in the hostel run by the welfare department, minimum support price of Rs 2050 per quintal for general and Rs 2070 for grade A paddy and target of procuring 8 lakh MT paddy.

Among the other approvals included seventh pay commission to non-teaching staff of university and colleges since January 1, 2016, Rs 81.63 crore for integrated intern state bus terminal and others.
