Jharkhand CM asks officials to ensure grand arrangements for Women’s Asian Hockey Champions

Ranchi, Oct. 17: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today held a high-level review of the preparations for the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy-2023 to be hosted by Jharkhand (Ranchi) from October 27 to November 5 along with officials of the Jharkhand Ministry.

In the meeting, detailed information about the preparations for the Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy-2023 was presented by the officials to Chief Minister Hemant Soren through a powerpoint presentation.

Soren told the officials that the grand organization of Women’s Asian Hockey Champions Trophy-2023 is among the priorities of the state government. This event will showcase the work being done by the state government towards the development of sports. The chief minister directed the officials to ensure that there is no flaw of any kind in organizing the championship.

Ensure promotion of Hockey Championship in mission mode

The chief minister said that live telecasts of various competition matches should be ensured on LED screens. Soren directed the officials to improve the quality of the LED screens installed inside and outside the Jaipal Singh Munda Astroturf Stadium of Marang Gomke, Morhabadi. He said that those trees which are adversely affecting the beauty of the stadium should also be trimmed. He also asked them take full care of cleanliness inside and outside the stadium.

Health facilities, security, transportation, 24×7 electric light

Soren said that the defective LED lights in the area around the hockey stadium should be replaced soon. 24×7 power supply should be ensured in the city during the championship. He also asked the officials to make adequate arrangements for transportation of players and guests.

In the meeting, the chief minister also reviewed the preparations for the stadium, various connectivity, guest facilities, security, traffic and crowd management, medical arrangements, and other preparations and gave many important guidelines to the officials. The chief minister said that along with the medical team, proper arrangements should be made for ambulances.

On this occasion, Chief Secretary Sukhdev Singh, Development Commissioner-cum-Additional Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Home Department Avinash Kumar, DGP Ajay Kumar Singh, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Vandana Dadel, Principal Secretary, Finance, Ajay Kumar Singh, Secretary to Chief Minister Vinay Kumar Choubey, Secretary of Building Construction Department Sunil Kumar, Secretary of Sports Department Manoj Kumar, Municipal Commissioner  Amit Kumar, DIG, Ranchi, Anoop Birthare, IPRD Director Rajeev Lochan Bakshi, Sports Director Sushant Gaurav, DC, Ranchi, Rahul Kumar Sinha, Senior Superintendent of Police Ranchi Chandan Sinha, Secretary General of Hockey India Bhola Nath Singh along with other officials of the State Government and Hockey India were present.
