Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Tuesday met Savita Kachhap, the youngest tribal PhD scholar selected at IIIT Ranchi, and praised her academic achievement while extending financial and moral support from the state government.
Recognition for Academic Excellence
Savita Kachhap met the Chief Minister at his residential office on Kanke Road, Ranchi. Congratulating her on her selection, Hemant Soren extended best wishes for her doctoral studies. On behalf of the Jharkhand government, the Chief Minister handed over a cheque of ₹2 lakh as an incentive to support her PhD education, which was received by her family members.
Youngest Tribal PhD Scholar at IIIT Ranchi
Savita Kachhap, a resident of Dungri Toli in Argora, Ranchi, currently lives at her grandmother’s home in Madhukam while pursuing her studies. She informed the Chief Minister that at just 24 years of age, she is the youngest candidate from the tribal community to be selected for a PhD programme at IIIT Ranchi in Electrical Communication Engineering. She is also the first tribal research scholar in a technical field at the institute and has presented her international novelty research work at IEEE forums.
Government Assures Continued Support
Encouraging her to continue her education and research with dedication, Chief Minister Hemant Soren assured Savita Kachhap that the state government would provide all possible assistance for her academic journey. Family members and other officials were present during the meeting.
