Ranchi, June 22: Chief Minister (CM) Hemant Soren today announced a foreign trip with family to five best performers panchayat secretaries every year.

The announcement was made while he was distributing 2550 appointment letters to newly appointed clerks of the state panchayati raj, revenue and food departments at Morabadi ground.

“Jis Panchayat Mein Apki Posting Hoti Hai Use Ek Model Panchayat Banaye. Main Har Saal Paanch Badhiya Panchayat Banane Wale ko Pure Parivar Ke Saath Saptah Bhar Ke Videsh Bhraman Par Bhejoonga aur Wahan se Prapt Anubhav ko Panchayat Mein lagoo karaunga  (Make the panchayat in which you are posted a model panchayat. Every year I will send five good panchayat makers on a week-long trip abroad with the entire family and will ensure applying all those good experiences in Panchayats gained during the visit),” he said.

The CM while announcing the foreign trip asked the newly appointed clerks to play a proactive role to wash the ‘stigma of being a backward state’, ‘stigma of labour dominated state’ and ‘stigma of being a poor state’. He asked that if they walk one step, the government will walk 100 steps. He said the happiness of getting appointment letters should not be limited to families but should spread throughout society.

Earlier, the CM cursed the union government for reducing the job opportunities in the army, banks and railways and alleged that despite selling railways, airports and banks 80 per cent of people in the country depend on government-sponsored food.

The CM said while the BJP government ended the pension scheme and invested the entire amount of provident fund in LIC, his government reintroduced the old pension scheme to ensure the future of those getting government jobs.

State finance minister Rameshwar Oraon and Panchayati Raj Minister Alamgir Alam were also present on the occasion.
