Ranchi, Dec 28: Jharkhand State Food Commission Chairman Himanshu Shekhar Chowdhary met Chief Minister Hemant Soren today at the CM’s residential office at Kanke Road and the Chief Minister unveiled the calendar for the year 2023 issued by the Jharkhand State Food Commission.
The calendar has been published this year by the Commission to make the public aware of the provisions of the National Food Security Act and their rights for this purpose.
This calendar issued by the Commission is to be put up in the panchayat buildings and all the block offices of all the panchayats of the state. The process of delivering the calendar to the destination has been started after the unveiling by the Chief Minister.
In the calendar, how much food grains are to be available under the public distribution system, under what provisions mid-day meals are to be provided in the schools, what schemes are being implemented in the Anganwadi centers under the National Food Security Act, information about the context of Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, a Along with providing the details of the Rashtra One Ration Card, information about the Food Security Allowance under the National Food Security Act has also been made available.
The details of the Jharkhand State Contingency Food Fund have also been given in the calendar. The details of the monitoring committee are also given in the calendar.
Apart from this, details have also been made available in the calendar as to who is not entitled to ration cards. The WhatsApp number 0-9142622194 has been mentioned in bold letters at the top of the calendar to register a complaint related to the Food Security Act with the Commission.
Praising this initiative of the State Food Commission, Soren has described the tagline of the Commission as “Know your rights, ask for your rights” as an effective effort in the public interest.
