Dhanbad, Dec 20: Dental Council of India (DCI) has felicitated the president of Jharkhand State Dental Council (JSDC) president Dr Vivek Kumar for his major role in implementing the biometric attendance system in all 316 dental colleges across the country.
Dr Vivek Kumar was the nodal officer of the ‘Online faculty and students attendance monitoring system (OFSAMS)’ project of the Dental Council. Under the project, over 23000 teachers and 14,500 Post Graduate (MDS) students in all 316 dental colleges of the country have been registered for daily attendance.
DCI national president Dr Dibyendu Mazumdar while felicitating Dr Vivek for this outstanding achievement in New Delhi said that the DCI has been able to achieve this feat of implementing a biometric attendance system in all dental colleges across the country due to his relentless efforts.
“Biometric attendance system would help in restoring transparency and responsibility and teachers and postgraduate students of dental colleges in the country. The project was tough and Dr Vivek made it possible in the scheduled time,” said the DCI president. He added that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has already established this system in 600 medical colleges in the country.
Earlier, Dr Vivek was also felicitated in New Delhi on World Oral Health Day for his outstanding services during the lockdown period.
