Deoghar, March 6: Holi, the festival of colour and joy, is celebrated in Deoghar differently. As per tradition, Holi is celebrated as Harihar Milan as well the foundation day of Baba Baidh Nath Dham.
Talking to lagatar24.com, the superintendent of Temple Sona Sinha said that two major changes would take place today. First, the traditional Shrin Gar Pooja, which is held every day, would not be held and the gate of sacred Garbh Grih will remain open through the night.
According to Sinha, the common man can offer Abir-Gulal to lord Shiva. As per schedule, the Palaki of Lord Krishna will be carried through the city and will be kept near Azad chowk through the night where common people can offer Abir Gulal.
In the early morning on Tuesday, Lord Krishna will be brought back to the temple and a traditional meeting of Lord Shiva and Krishna will be held and the foundation of the Baba Baidh Nath Dam will be celebrated.
After the meeting, the traditional morning offering of Lord Shiva will be held and then after the shringar of Shiv Linga will be held.
As per mythology, Lord Shiva was handed over by Ravana into the hand of a calf boy who was non-other than Lord Vishnu.
Notably, every festival is celebrated in its own way and flavour in Deoghar. The district administration has geared up for Holi. Deoghar Dc Manju Nath Bhajantri has been monitoring it himself.
