Daltonganj, Sept 18: Director general of police Jharkhand Niraj Sinha and his team will reach Burha Pahar by two choppers on Sunday.
The team comprised of additional director general of police operations Sanjay Anand Lathkar, Jharkhand sector IG CRPF Amit Kumar, inspector general of police operations A V Homkar, deputy inspector general of police special task force Anoop Birtharay, deputy inspector general CRPF B K Sharma, superintendent of police special branch Shivani Tiwary and others are to reach Burha Pahar by two choppers.
Sources have said as the contingent of the officers of the security forces is quite bulky, two helicopters will be landing on the Burha Pahar on Sunday. One of the helicopters is MI 17 while the other is ALH (advanced light helicopter).
Security forces have readied a helipad right atop the Burha Pahar. On Saturday MI 17 helicopter made a successful landing and takeoff as well. The Helipad on the Burha Pahar was something of a mirage about 10 to 15 years ago.
Sources said that the landing and takeoff of the choppers on or from the erstwhile Red soil like this Burha Pahar has had its own psychological impact on the Maoists.
Sources said the Maoists fear two things most. First is a head on collision with the security forces and the second is a chopper or drone.
Anoop Birtharay said the DGP Jharkhand Niraj Sinha and other top brasses are reaching Burha Pahar by air on Sunday.
Birtharay further said the air dashing of the DGP and others is to boost the morale of the security forces which have driven out the Maoists from the Burha Pahar and have reclaimed it after many years of conflict with the Maoists.
“Our security camps are there and have a cordial connection with the locals,” added Birtharay. Local support here is a big asset, he also reminded.
It will cut into the time of the emergency response to the situation like sudden illness of the jawans, requirement for other logistics support.
