Jharkhand DGP visits COBRA battalion’s camp in Chatra

Chatra, April.4: DGP Ajay Kumar Singh today reached the camp of 203 COBRA (Commando Batallion for Resolute Action) battalion felicitating the team which killed five top supreme commanders of the Communist Party of India (Maoist) in a gun battle yesterday. Singh expressed his happiness terming it an important achievement, claiming that such operations will continue in future also.

Singh reached here with CRPF ADG Vitul Kumar, ADG (operation) Sanjay Anand Rao Latkar, IG (operation) A. V Homkar, DIG Narendra Singh, CRPF DIG D.K Choudhary, Chatra SP Rakesh Ranjan and commandant of the CRPF 190 battalion Manoj Kumar.

After felicitating officers and jawans of the team, Singh said they all are here to encourage the team which carried out yesterday’s operation on the Chatra-Palamu border killing five Maoists. We are also here to chalk out further plans to get more achievements in the coming days, he added.

He rubbished the claim that this was a fake encounter telling the reporters that everything related to this gun battle was brought in front of all. He urged extremists to surrender and join the mainstream taking the benefits of the state government’s surrender policy. What you are doing is against the system, society and against your family, he told extremists. Join the mainstream as the government is ready to help you, he said.
