Dhanbad, March 20: Dhanbad-based Dr AK Singh has been nominated to the 21-member Indian Medical Association (IMA) Standing Committee for Academic and Accreditation Board (SCAAB) for two years terms of 2023-2024.
According to a notification issued by IMA national secretary general Dr Anil Kumar J Nayak, only two persons from Jharkhand and Bihar Dr AK Singh and Dr Jitender Kumar Singh have been selected in this 21-member high power committee of the medicos national body.
IMA national president Dr Sharad Kumar Agrawal has reconstituted the Standing Committee for Academic and Accreditation Board on the basis of decision held at Prayagraj at a Central Council meeting.
Dr AK Singh, who is president of Jharkhand chapter of Indian Medical Association 2011, has been a regular member of executive committee of national body. The sources said he has been nominated to the SCAAB on basis of his performance in implementing the IMA national body programmes in Jharkhand and working for welfare of medicos.
Meanwhile, the doctors of Dhanbad, Ranchi, Jamshedpur and other districts of state have congratulated Dr Singh for his nomination to the elite committee of the national body.
Earlier in January, Dr Ajay Kumar Singh of Ranchi ( former national vice-president) had been nominated to the 10-member IMA Standing Committee for Building for 2023-24.
