Ranchi, Sept 1: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again summoned Kolkata-based businessman Amit Agrawal for questioning. Sources said that Amit Agrawal who is the complainant against Jharkhand High Court advocate Rajiv Kumar in the extortion case is expected to turn up before the ED for questioning.
That will be the second round of questioning of Amit Agrawal whose complaint against Rajiv Kumar is being investigated by the ED also besides the Kolkata police. The Kolkata police arrested Rajiv Kumar on July 31 along with Rs 50 Lakh. The police claimed that Rajiv Kumar had extorted the said seized amount from Amit Agrawal for not dragging his name in the shell companies related PIL.
Earlier, the ED directed him to come to its Ranchi zonal office on August 25. The ED calling Amit Agrawal is in the light of certain revelations made by Rajiv Kumar who said that NIA terror funding suspect Sonu Agrawal had introduced him to Amit Agrawal. He said that Sonu Agrawal in conspiracy with Amit Agrawal trapped him.
Sources said that Sonu Agrawal too will be summoned. And there is all likelihood that some cops and officials of the Bengal police involved in the arrest, investigation and other procedures related to Rajiv Kumar may be summoned. The ED wants to record their statement to know how and in which situation Rajiv Kumar was arrested.
