Ranchi, Nov 14: Renu Gopinath Panikkar, former CEO of Jharcraft, joined Janata Dal (United) party at the Jharkhand state headquarters on Monday. State President Khiru Mahato, General Secretary Shravan Kumar and State Spokesperson Sagar Kumar welcomed her by honouring her with a JD(U) strap.

After joining the organization, Panikkar said that every person in India who has the right to vote becomes a part of politics. I felt that one should go ahead. Opportunities were being received from many parties, but it happened when I met Bihar CM Nitish Kumar in Patna.

“There is a similarity between my ideology and the ideology of the organization. That’s why I have decided to join JD (U),” Panikkar said.

Renu Gopinath denied involvement in the blanket purchase scam case and presented her side. She said that the work of making blankets has been going on in Jharcraft since 2016. She became CEO of Jharkhand on 6 April 2017 after one year. She resigned from the post a year later in 2018. She said she has nothing to do with this and that the work was already being done by the Jharkhand government.

Organization made Renu the state vice-president: Khiru Mahato

Jharkhand JD(U)’s state president cum Rajya Sabha MP Khiru Mahto said that Panikkar’s joining the organization will strengthen it. After getting the consent of the National President, she has been made the state Vice President. Renu plans to visit different districts of Jharkhand and work to connect women with the organization.

On the cancellation of President Droupadi Murmu’s visit, Mahto said that it is a matter of misfortune. There was a wave of happiness among the people about her arrival. For the first time after becoming the President, she was to attend Jharkhand’s foundation day. If this has been done from a political point of view then it is wrong.
