Ranchi, Jan.8: The Jharkhand government today issued guidelines for precautionary doses of Covid-19 vaccination to health care workers (HCWs), front Line Workers (FLWs) and 60 plus with co-morbidities from January 10.

According to the guidelines sent to deputy commissioners across the state by health secretary Arun Kumar Singh today the persons will be given the same vaccine which he had taken twice earlier provided the duration from the date of administration of the second dose as recorded in the Cowin system should be nine months or 39 weeks.

60 plus are expected to obtain advice from their doctor before deciding to avail the precaution dose but do not require to produce any certificate from doctors at the time of administration of precaution dose.

Registration and appointment service can be accessed through both, the online and the onsite (walk in) modes. All such HCWs and FLWs who are for any reason presently registered on the Co-WIN system as citizens and are aged less than 60 years, will have to get their status appropriately assigned to HCW/FLW to avail the precaution dose. However, in order to do so, they must produce the employment certificate in the prescribed format.  This facility will only be available at Government Vaccination Centres in on-site mode. This can be availed at the time of administration of the precaution dose at Government centres.

All citizens irrespective of their income status are entitled to get free COVID-19 vaccination at Govt. Vaccination Centres. Those who have the ability to pay are encouraged to use Private Hospitals’ Vaccination Centres at the pre-publicized cost.

The Private hospitals that function as CVCs can vaccinate their staff (Doctors, paramedics etc.) at their hospital itself. Such private hospitals may choose to bear the cost and provide the precaution dose to their staff who are eligible and due, free of cost or they may provide such vaccination and charge for it.

The prices being charged by the private CVCs for COVID-I9 vaccination is to be regularly monitored.

The details of the administration of the precaution dose will be suitably reflected in the digital vaccination certificates generated from Co-WlN. Districts should ensure that vaccination sessions at CVCs meant for their vaccination must be adequately publicized in advance reflected on the Co-WIN portal as well appropriate and adequate IEC campaign through various media be made, facilitating the spread of proper information across the community

For Health Care Workers & Front-Line Workers, the total number of beneficiaries along with their names and mobile numbers is available with the districts as reflected on the Co-WIN portal. This may be used for planning the administration of the precaution dose.
