Hazaribag, March 21: The district government announced the deployment of 5000 police jawans and various paramilitary forces to ensure a calm festival in Hazaribag. Hazaribag is currently a district with a high level of communal sensitivity, amid protests and an indefinite hunger strike.

According to deputy commissioner Nancy Sahay, the town has 91 akharas.  Furthermore, 26 drop gates will be put in place along the Ramnavami route, and the administration plans to station more than 750 magistrates around the town. According to Sahay, all BDOs, COs, and officers-in-charge have been asked to organize peace committee meetings in the areas under their control.

As per Sahay, all liquor stores will remain closed from March 30 to April 1.  Cinema halls will remain shut until April 2, she continued. Those who will come to observe the Ramanavami parade in town will even have access to temporary restrooms at several locations. Even a control room will operate 24X7, she added.

The SP, Manoj Ratan Chauthe,  stated that the town will be monitored through CCTVs and drones.  He claimed that people were asked to clear away construction materials from the terraces of their houses as well as the roads. Akharas have been asked not to play objectionable and communally sensitive songs.  The SP  continued, “Even we will closely monitor all social media platforms to thwart the plans of troublemakers.
