Ranchi, Dec.7: The Jharkhand High Court today directed Pakur SP and officer-in-charge of Pakuria beside an investigating officer of the police station to physically appear before it on January 5 in a matter of contempt of court.
The order came from the court of Justice Sanjay Dwivedi, where Shiv Shankar Bhagat filed a contempt petition.
Bhagat had a petition submitted before the court that violated the high court order police in Pakur attached his property.
The case arose after Pakur police took an order of attachment against Shivshankar Bhagat, the accused in a criminal case. Bhagat challenged the order before the high court. On November 28, Justice Dwivedi asked the Pakur police to suspend the attachment order. Pakur police were asked to inform about this through the government advocate.
Even after being informed by the government advocate, Pakur police seized the attachment at Bhagat’s house. Locking the door, the police took the key.
