Ranchi, Sept.7: The Jharkhand High Court today granted bail to former minister Yogendra Sao and his wife Nirmala Devi in a case of staging a demonstration against NTPC in violation of the prohibitory order of district administration. The matter concerns Barkagaon police station case no 135/16.

A close associate of Sao informed saying that the development path has been paved for Yogendra Sao to come out of jail. The order came from the court of Justice Rajesh Kumar after advocate Manish Kumar completed his argument for granting bail to the Sao couple.

Asked about the fate of Nirmala Sao, advocate Kumar said that she had to remain in jail as her bail petition in the Chirudih firing case is yet to be granted.

Earlier on July 21, the high court had granted bail to Sao in Chirudih firing case

Sao has been the Agriculture Minister in the Jharkhand government. He represented Barkagaon constituency in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from 2009 to 2014.
