Ranchi, August 1: The patients at Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) are worried since dirty bedsheets were found to be on the beds of patients in the Oncology department on Sunday.

The issue came into the limelight when Health Minister Banna Gupta visited RIMS on Sunday to get an update on the condition of Padma Shri Simon Oraon and noticed that the bedsheets in the department are in a concerning condition.

Lagatar24.com contacted the Department of Oncology at RIMS to get the full information regarding the whole issue but was denied and told that nothing regarding this can be shared by the department as it is being handled by the medical superintendent.

The medical superintendent has been asked by Health Minister Banna Gupta to confiscate the dirty bedsheets in the department and also inform the concerned agency to present a show cause of expenditures for the last six months.

He had also ordered the medical superintendent to inform the agency to come up with data showing how much detergents and other materials have been used by them in the last six months.

One of the patients in the general ward informed that the bedsheet used in the general wards are also in a very dirty condition and are also covered with stain marks.

“I have been admitted to the hospital for the last one week and I have not seen the bedsheet being changed even once. Even after complaining to the nurse, nothing has been done,” he said.

Lagatar24.com tried to contact the medical superintendent of RIMS in order to get complete information but he could not be reached.
