Ranchi, Feb.23: A division bench of Jharkhand High Court today upheld the order of a single judge bench by which the result of 6th JPSC civil service examination was canceled and the order affected as many as 326 officers of the state government appointed on the basis of that result.
Advocate Subhashish Soren, who appeared on behalf of Dilip Kumar, a candidate who could not qualify in the examination, informed the development saying after the single judge bench gave the order, those appointed on the basis of that result challenged the order in the division bench but did not get any relief.
Soren said that the case arose when JPSC prepared a merit list adding the marks of qualifying papers against the set norm and deprived deserving candidates of getting a place in the merit list.
“JPSC was not expected to prepare a merit list adding the marks of qualifying paper but it prepared and thus committed a blunder,” Soren said.
