Ranchi, April 25: The Jharkhand High Court granted anticipatory bail to money laundering and bank fraud accused builder Amit Sarawgi.

A single bench of Justice Gautam Choudhary delivered the judgment after advocate Indrajit Sinha assisted by advocate Rishav Kumar argued in favour of Sarawgi’s bail amid objection by ED advocate Amit Das.

The high court imposed two bail bonds of Rs 1 lakh each as a condition for granting bail.  Aside from that, the high court made it clear in its direction that bailers must be income tax payers and must submit their passport to the lower court.

Sarawgi is facing charges of laundering Rs 25 crore. Apart from this, he is also accused of bank fraud involving more than Rs 100 crores of different banks.
