Ranchi, Nov 1: After a lull during festivals, the Enforcement Directorate is set to intensify the investigation of the illegal stone mining and in this connection the agency is likely to issue notices to some high-profile persons of the state in the next few days.
Notices are set to be issued based on the findings of the investigations that have ascertained that illegal stone mining which mostly centered in Sahibganj district had the political and administrative backing. Powerful persons had a lion’s share in the proceeds of the crime generated out of the stone mining and the same was laundered through different entities.
Meanwhile, the ED is stated to have shot off a letter to the Jharkhand Police headquarter to provide proper security to the zonal office of the agency located on the Airport Road in Ranchi. The CRPF too has been intimated about this.
