Ranchi, Oct.16: Jharkhand minister Hafizul Ansari today cut a sorry figure after he realised that he paid homage to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh during a programme at his assembly constituency Madhupur on Friday though the former is alive.

उनके शीघ्र स्वस्थ होने की दुआ करता हूँ pic.twitter.com/rfW7quyBVM

He shared his feeling by sending a video message to lagatar24.com seeking an apology for this blunder from people and all those concerned with Singh.

Seeking apology through the video he said he committed the mistake when he became emotional after getting information about the death of Singh through a FaceBook message.

While paying homage he remembered Singh for his contribution to the country and criticised present prime minister Narendra Modi alleging him of taking the country 50 years back. His speech paying homage became viral today.

Sources close to Ansari said if the minister would have verified the information such blunder had never taken place.

“This is a lesson to those who take action on the message coming through social media without verification of fact through reliable sources,” a person close to Ansari said.

Ansari is the son of former Jharkhand minority welfare minister Haji Hussain Ansari, who died in October last year.
