According to the sources, the CID team of West Bengal reached the hideout of Siddharth Majumdar located in Chanakyapuri in Delhi to raid. Majumdar’s name has also come up in the investigation of Kolkata CID for taking the MLAs from Kolkata to Guwahati on July 29. It was Siddhartha who had also got the MLAs to meet Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on July 20.

In the investigation of CID Kolkata, it has come to light that on July 30, MLA Irfan Ansari went to the office of a businessman, Mahendra Agarwal, located in Lalbazar, Kolkata, along with his assistant Kumar Prateek. Agarwal gave him Rs 49 lakh there.

Before this, all had reached a hotel on Sadar Street at 3.06 pm, after which all had left from there at 3.14 pm. The hotel staff had told in their statement that the MLAs had spoken about their being VVIPs, which was the reason why entry was not made to come to their room.

On the other hand, on Tuesday, the CID team led by Pranav Kumar, IG-1 of CID Kolkata, raided Mahendra Agarwal’s office of Cosmopolitan Commodity Private Limited, a trader associated with share trading, in Bikaner building, Lalabazar. After the raid, the police found Rs 3.34 lakh and 250 silver coins from the spot.
