Jharkhand police ATS arrests 17 gangsters in last 15 days

Ranchi, Aug.5: The Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) of Jharkhand police during last fortnight raided 230 hideouts of criminals associated with different criminal gangs and arrested as many as 17 criminals after verification of 130 suspects.

Following this, a proposal has also been sent to all the districts of Jharkhand for monitoring the names of 338 people associated with various criminal gangs.

Inspector General of Police (operation) A.V.Homkar, South Chotanagpur Range, DIG Anoop Birtharay and Superintendent of Police (ATS) Surendra Jha shared the information at a joint press conference organized at the state police headquarters to share the ATS action in Ranchi, Ramgarh, Dhanbad and other districts.

Homkar said that the action was taken on the instruction of the police headquarters. He said in accordance with the DGP’s direction, a database of criminals of different gangs is being prepared by the ATS team.

Homkar said the ATS action against the gangsters will continue adopting zero tolerance. “Any criminal involved in an organized crime and the persons giving shelter to them will not be spared,” he said.

“Gangsters whose 230 hideouts were raided include Aman Srivastava, Aman Sahu, Aman Singh, Prince Khan and Kalu Lama,” Homkar said.

During the press conference details of criminals were also shared. The list of criminals arrested includes Chandan Saw, Bobby Saw, Sonu Kumar, Warish Ansari and Rajan Kumar, Digambar Prajapati of Aman Sahu gang besides Ejaz Ansar and Minku Khan of Aman Srivastava. Apart from these criminals, Rohit Munda, Abhishek Mallick and Shubham Vishwakarma of Kalu Lama Gang and, Afzal Ansari, Danish Mallik, Tanveer Taslim of Prince Khan’s gang were also arrested. Among those other arrested include Buchan Singh of Aman Singh gang besides arm suppliers Prabhakar Pandey

It was informed that as many as five pistols, one revolver, eight rounds of bullets, two magazines besides Rs 49.83 lakh cash, one SUV, two bikes and 22 mobile phones were also recovered.

The police official said that out of eight gangsters, six including Akhilesh Singh, Aman Sahu, Aman Singh, Luvkush Sharma, Vikas Tiwari and Aman Srivastava have been jailed while two including Dablu Singh and Prince Khan are absconding.

“Akhilesh and Aman Sahu are in Dumka jail, while Aman Singh and Luvkush are in Dhanbad and Sahibganj jail. While Vikash Tiwari is in Hazaribagh Jail, Aman Srivastava is in Ranchi Jail,” ATS SP Jha said.
