Ranchi, June 24: The Jharkhand police recovered a body hanging from a tree in Gonaloya, a place about 40km from the Jharkhand capital under the Murhu police station area of Khunti district.

It was identified as Rajesh Ganjhu.

The police have started an investigation into the matter. According to the primary investigation, he had left his house at 3 am in the morning and then committed suicide by hanging himself. A locality resident, however, suspects the suicide angle.

“It appears that someone killed Ganjhu and then hanged him from a tree near his house to give a suicide angle. If Ganjhu had committed suicide, his feet must not be touching the ground,” the resident said.

Superintendent of Police of the district Aman Kumar expressed his inability to give any conclusive statement. “Prima facie matter appears to be a case of suicide but a conclusive statement can be given in the matter after the autopsy report comes,” he said.
