Jharkhand reach semis of Junior Women National Hockey Championship for 10th consecutive year

Ranchi, March 31: Jharkhand Hockey team defeated Uttar Pradesh 4-0 in the quarter finals of the 12th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2022 held at Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. The team has qualified for the semi-finals for the 10th consecutive year.

During the match, Deepika Soreng scored the first goal in the 13th minute of the first quarter, to give Jharkhand a 1-0 lead. Rajni Kerketta scored the second goal for the team in the second quarter. In the third quarter, the match was full of struggle and both the teams failed to score.

Pramodini Lakra scored a goal in the 56th minute and almost secured a win for her team. Taking a more aggressive stance at the last minute, Elin Dungdung scored a field goal in the 60th minute to give Jharkhand a 4-0 win.

The President of Hockey Jharkhand, Shri Bholanath Singh along with other officials have congratulated the team for their excellent performance in the quarters and wished them the best for the next match.

 

Jharkhand will face Maharashtra in the semis on April 2.
