Ranchi, Dec 6: Going an extra mile, Jamshedpur MLA Saryu Roy on Tuesday wrote a letter to the principal secretary of the cabinet secretariat and coordination (vigilance) department expressing his willingness to cooperate in the ACB investigation against him.
“You are aware that the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has sought permission from the Department to file a PE in connection with the allegations of irregularities levelled against me when I was the Minister of Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department on the ground that those who have levelled the allegations against me have attached photocopies of the relevant files with the complaint, so it is necessary to file a PE to match the same with the original files. Under Right to Information, I have obtained photocopies of note side and correspondence side of all those files from Food, Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs Department and Directorate, which is in total 2500 pages,” the letter reads.
“I have received documents from the Department of Public Distribution and Consumer Affairs and Directorate on November 30, 2022, and December 5, 2022, and I want to turn over all of the documents sent to ACB if the ACB wants to compare the photocopies provided by the complainant with the original file regarding the accusations made against me. They can be photocopied and picked up from my house by ACB. The Cabinet Secretariat and Coordination (vigilance) Department has the option of manually comparing the photocopies to the authenticated originals. The investigation can be finished swiftly in this method,” the letter further reads.
