Ranchi, Aug 18: The total number of active Covid-19 cases in Jharkhand has gone down significantly since August 1.
As per the official government data, the number of active cases on August 1 was 1,117 whereas it has come down to 413 on August 17.
As far as Ranchi district is considered, the cases out here have also seen a substantial degradation as the currently active cases stand at 63 as compared to 323 on August 1.
Notably, districts including Chatra, Jamtara, Pakur, Sahebganj, Saraikela and Simdega currently have zero active covid cases as of Thursday’s report.
Meanwhile, the rate of vaccination has also gone up in the state. As per the data, around 63 per cent of the population in the age group 15 to 17 have taken the first dose of vaccination whereas 39 per cent have taken the mandatory second dose.
Similarly, around 61 per cent of the population ranging between age 12-14 have taken the first dose whereas around 28 per cent have taken the second dose.
A total of 10,49,122 persons in Jharkhand have taken the precautionary third dose as of August 17 whereas the majority of the population still needs to get the jab.
