Ranchi, March 15: The Jharkhand assembly proceedings remained disturbed on the third consecutive day today as the BJP legislators continued to create ruckus demanding reply of Chief Minister Hemant Soren on the issue of recruitment policy.
As soon as the proceedings started at 11.07am, the BJP MLAs wearing T-shirts carrying the message “1932 ka Kya Hua” reached the well. Speaker Rabindra Nath Mahto raised objection to this but the BJP MLAs did not budge and stuck to their demand of the chief minister’s reply on the recruitment policy.
The quantum of ruckus was so high that the assembly speaker directed to stop the live telecast of the proceedings through Vidhan Sabha TV during the question hour and this situation angered JMM MLA Lobin Hembrom who wanted to ask supplementary questions to know from the government when the by-laws for implementation of PESA Act in the scheduled area will be formulated but stopped doing so after he realized the live telecast has been stopped.
Hembrom said he will not ask questions if the live telecast is stopped and finally the speaker had to direct for the resumption of the telecast.
BJP MLA Amar Kumar Bauri alleged the state government of playing with the future of youth saying the government failed to implement the 1932 Khatiyan-based local policy as promised in its election manifesto and so far, did nothing to provide jobs to youth.
Bauri said the chief minister has not even dared to clarify what is the 60:40 recruitment policy which he had finalized in a cabinet meeting without taking the assembly into confidence.
AJSU legislature party leader Sudesh Mahto questioned the role of the speaker in the house saying the chair appears to be titled towards the ruling party. The Speaker took exception to it and after giving a piece of mind to the BJP legislators adjourned the house till 12.30pm.
