Ranchi, Feb.22: Though delay clouds loom large over Panchayat election in Jharkhand due to pendency of the OBC reservation issue before the Supreme Court, the State election commission appears in action mode taking its preparation.

The Jharkhand State Election Commission planned to train the election officials for the Panchayat poll. The training will start on February 23 and continue till February 25.

The commission has sent a letter to all the deputy commissioners of the state informing them regarding training schedules in their districts.

On 23 February, training will be imparted in Garhwa, Pakur, Dumka, Sahibganj, Palamu, Godda, Deoghar, and Koderma. On February 24, training will be imparted in Jamtara, Simdega, Latehar, Chatra, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Hazaribagh, and Giridih.

On February 25, training will be imparted in Ramgarh, Lohardaga, Gumla, Khunti, Ranchi, West Singhbhum, Seraikela-Kharsawan, and East Singhbhum.

Deputy Commissioners of all the districts are expected to send the election officers and district deputy election officers for training on the scheduled date.

Panchayat election is already delayed in Jharkhand. Sitting office bearers have been given an extension to ensure that works in rural areas do not hamper though the practice is being seen as a way adopted for malpractice.
