Jharkhand Weather: Heavy Rainfall Alert Issued for Several Districts from July 13-15, Yellow Alert in Place

Ranchi: The monsoon continues to unleash intense rainfall across Jharkhand, with the Meteorological Department issuing a heavy rainfall warning for several parts of the state. A yellow alert has been declared in various districts between July 13 and 15.

District-Wise Heavy Rainfall Forecast

July 13: Ranchi, Khunti, Gumla, Simdega, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, and West Singhbhum.

July 14: Giridih, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Dumka, Jamtara, Seraikela-Kharsawan, East Singhbhum, and West Singhbhum.

July 15: Deoghar, Jamtara, Dumka, Pakur, Godda, and Sahebganj.

Rainfall Status So Far

Between June 1 and July 12, Jharkhand has recorded 499.6 mm of rainfall, significantly surpassing the normal average of 296.4 mm—a 69% excess. However, five districts have received below-average rainfall during this period.

Districts with Excess Rainfall

East Singhbhum: 157% above normal rainfall

Ranchi: 150% above normal rainfall

Seraikela-Kharsawan: 130% above normal rainfall

Districts with Deficit Rainfall

Deoghar: 21-29% below normal rainfall

Garhwa: 21-29% below normal rainfall

Godda: 21-29% below normal rainfall

Sahebganj: 21-29% below normal rainfall

Pakur: 21-29% below normal rainfall

The Meteorological Department has urged residents in affected areas to stay vigilant and take necessary precautions as heavy showers could potentially disrupt daily life and cause localized flooding.
