Jamshedpur, Nov 29: A 20-year-old youth from East Singhbhum district’s Patamda block had a fatal fall from Howrah-bound Mumbai-Geetanjali Express in Maharashtra under mysterious conditions.

As the victim, identified as Pradeep Hembram, boarded the train along with four other youths of the same village where he resided, the police on Tuesday afternoon took them under custody for interrogation.

A resident of Banstola village in Patamda, Pradeep Hembram had gone to Maharashtra for working as a labourer in a company at Dadar and was returning home with his co-villagers when he was killed after a fall from the train on Sunday. The railway police in Maharashtra picked up the body and informed the victim’s family members about the tragedy.

According to police, the railway police got the postmortem done in Maharashtra and sent the body to Patamda on Tuesday.

On the other hand, when the four co-villagers identified as Subodh Hansda, Ajay Murmu, Vidyasagar Tantubai and Suklal Hansda who also reached Tatanagar today could not give a satisfactory reply to the circumstances leading to Pradeep’s fatal fall, the victim’s parents approached the Patamda police for carrying out an investigation.

Soon after the complaint was filed by the bereaved parents, OC of Patamda police station Ranjit Kumar Singh picked up the four for interrogation.

Pradeep Hembram was the only son of his parents and the news of his death has cast a pale of gloom in Banstola village.
