Dhanbad, Feb 4: Ranchi, Dhanbad, Tatanagar, and Bokaro are among the 57 railway stations of Jharkhand that have been selected under the Amrit Bharat Stations Scheme for development at the cost of Rs 444 crores.
The Techno-Economic feasibility studies of four top stations of the state Dhanbad, Jasidih, Hatia and Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) under this scheme have already started.
The senior railway official of East Central Railway (ECR) Zone said that under the Amrit Bharat Railway Stations scheme, waiting halls, good cafeteria/retail facilities, high-level platforms and other facilities would be developed at all categories of railway stations.
The selected 57 railway stations of Jharkhand are- Balsiring, Bano, Barajamda Junction, Barkakana, Basukinath, Bhaga, Bokaro Steel City, Chaibasa, Chakradharpur, Chandil, Chandrapur, Daltonganj, Dangoaposi, Deoghar, Dhanbad, Dumka, Gamharia, Gangaghat, Garhwa Road, Garhwa Town, Ghatshila, Giridih, Godda, Govindpur Road, Haidarnagar, Hatia, Hazaribagh Road, Jamtara, Japla, Jasidih, Katrasgarh, Koderma, Kumardhubi, Latehar, Lohardaga, Madhupur, Manoharpur, Muhammadganj, Muri, NSCB Gomoh, Naugaruntari, Namkom, Orga, Pakur, Parasnath, Piska, Rajkharswan, Rajmahal, Rajmahal, Ramgarh Cant, Ranchi, Sahibganj, Shankarpur, Silli, Sini, Tatanagar, Tatisilway and Vidyasagar.
The senior railway official said a total of 155 different grades of railway stations and halts come under the Dhanbad Rail Division of East Central Railway Zone in which 15 stations including Garhwa Road Daltonganj, Koderma Gomoh, Parasnath, Latehar, Paharpur, Katrasgarh, Hazaribag Road, Chopan, Renukut, Nagaruntari, Garhwa Town, Chandrapura station have been nominated for Amrit Bhara Stations Scheme.
Dhanbad Rail Division Manager (DRM) Ashish Bansal while talking with a media person on Friday evening informed on February 3 (Friday) 24 hours special ticket-checking drive was launched at different railway stations of the division which, till 6 pm, 1200 passengers were caught without a ticket and fine of Rs 5.5 lakh realized from them.
“The main aim of this special checking drive was to control the passengers from travelling without ticket and boarding in the reserved and unreserved bogie of express trains,” said DRM Ashish Bansal.
