Meeting chaired by Chief Secretary emphasizes showcasing state’s unique character, culture, and government initiatives.

Ranchi: Preparations for the Republic Day celebrations on January 26, 2025, are in full swing in Jharkhand. At a meeting chaired by Chief Secretary Alka Tiwari on Thursday, officials discussed plans to ensure the state’s tableau reflects Jharkhand’s distinct identity and culture. The Chief Secretary directed that the tableau should prominently feature initiatives like the Maiyya Samman Yojana and road safety measures.

She also proposed forming a committee to finalize the tableau’s theme and presentation. Subsequently, a three-member committee was formed, comprising Agriculture Secretary Abu Bakr Siddiqui, Tourism Secretary Manoj Kumar, and Director of Information and Public Relations Department Rajiv Lochan Bakshi.

Committee to Approve Departmental Tableaux

The meeting decided that 12 to 13 departmental tableaux will participate in the Republic Day parade after approval from the committee. The tableaux will showcase various themes representing the state’s culture, achievements, and development initiatives.

Responsibilities Assigned to Ranchi and Dumka Officials

Key responsibilities for the Ranchi and Dumka Deputy Commissioners include:

•Timely printing and distribution of invitation cards.

•Cleaning and garlanding statues at key locations.

•Arrangements for seating, barricading, and sound systems at the main venue.

•Ensuring amenities like water, sanitation, and cleanliness.

•Traffic and parking management along key routes.

•Medical, fire safety, and security arrangements at the main ceremony venue.

•Organizing Republic Day celebrations across other district headquarters.

Improvements to Infrastructure and Features

Chief Secretary Tiwari directed officials to improve the quality of the LED screens near Morabadi Ground for better visibility during the celebrations. A proposal to exhibit Jharkhand’s traditional musical instruments in the tableau was also approved.

Director General of Police Anurag Gupta suggested including themes of cybersecurity in the tableau. The parade will feature platoons from the Army, CISF, CRPF, SSB, JAP, District Police, NDRF, and Fire Brigade, along with their respective bands. Rehearsals are scheduled from January 18 to 24.
