Ranchi, Sept.21: Jharkhand-based company, Dharmesh Enterprises, engaged in the construction of Metro Railway in Bihar’s capital, faces a theft problem. Company director Prabhakar, who is also a Jharkhand Andolankari, informed to Lagatar24.com saying last night, an SUV car parked outside the company guest under Agamkuan police station area was stolen and an FIR is under process of registration in this connection.

Prabhakar added that the SUV was brought by his staff who parked the vehicle at night around 8 PM and when woke up in the morning around 4.30 AM, he found it missing.

“Our company is working from zero miles to interstate bus terminus from ground level to pile cap, pier and pillar. We are supposed to do all work within 3.2km. Delhi Metro Rail Corporation under whom we are working has asked us to complete the work to ensure running of metro by December next year. We are intentional to do that, but such type of theft is disturbing us as our concentration gets diverted,” he said.

Patna Metro is a rapid transit system which is currently under construction. It will be owned and operated by the state-run Patna Metro Rail Corporation and is expected to run on two corridors by 2025. It is being constructed under a Public-Private Partnership mode and is estimated to cost Rs 13,365.77 crore.

This cost is excluding land acquisition cost, which is to be borne by the Bihar government. The first phase: the east–west corridor (Danapur-Mithapur-Khemni Chak) and north–south corridor (Patna Railway Station to NEW IBST) will consist of a 23.30 km elevated track and 16.30 km underground track.

In January 2022, L&T secured the order from metro operator Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) for the design and construction of the Corridor-2 of Phase-1 of Patna MRTS.

L&T classifies this contract worth ?1,989 crore as a significant order. The major scope of work for the project comprises six underground metro stations viz, Rajendra Nagar, Moin Ul Haq Stadium, University PMCH, Gandhi Maidan and Akashvani of Corridor-2.

YFC – MCL JV will design and construct the elevated viaduct, elevated ramp at Mithapur and Patliputra and seven stations in Corridor-1 at the cost of Rs 553 crore.

A police official at Agamkuan police station said investigation has been started in the matter. The police official said CCTV footages are being verified and action will be taken soon in the matter.
