Srinagar, Dec.13: Two unidentified terrorists have been gunned down in an encounter with security forces in the Rangreth region of Srinagar district, Central Kashmir on Monday.
After a joint team of police and security personnel cordoned off the area and conducted a search operation based on specific intelligence regarding the presence of terrorists, a shootout erupted between them.
As security forces closed in on the location where terrorists were hiding, they were met with a barrage of fire, which sparked the confrontation. Two terrorists who have not been recognised have been killed.
Earlier, a JeM terrorist had been slain in an encounter the day before in the Baragam region of Awantipora, Jammu & Kashmir. After receiving specific information regarding the presence of terrorists in the Baragam region of Awantipora in the south Kashmir district, security personnel conducted a cordon and search operation, according to a police official.
