RAJ KUMAR
Ranchi, Jan.31: Three days after former chief minister Raghubar Das termed Hemant Soren- led UPA government ‘Koyla Chor’, ‘Balu Chor’ and ‘Patthar Chor’ at a press conference organised at Press Club in the heart of Jharkhand capital, the JMM launched a counter-offensive against him.
Party general secretary and spokesperson Supriyo Bhattacharya pointed to the integrity of Das making it clear that the latter has no moral right to say all these.
“Who is Shekhar Agrawal? Why were his family members given a share in coal companies,” Bhattacharya asked, organizing a press conference today at the state party headquarters at Bariatu.
Das on January 28 had said illegal business of sand, stone and coal is going unabated and the patron of all illegal businesses is one family. He, without taking the names of the brothers, said one brother of the ruling family is taking care of illegal sand and stone mining while another brother of the same family is taking care of the illegal business of coal. Das had said that government officers are also involved in the business in connivance with both the brothers.
In response to the allegation, Bhattacharya said: “The way there was a loot of mineral wealth during the tenure of the former Chief Minister Das, has been stopped today and thus he (Das) is shocked.”
Bhattacharya on the occasion also replied to a query regarding the attack on former BJP state president and MP Ravindra Rai in Bokaro on Sunday.
He said: “The MP had reached there to incite the pre-announced program of tribal-native, due to which such an incident took place. A fair investigation into the matter will help expose Rai.”
