Ranchi, Jan.31: Police cracked Morhabadi broad daylight shoot out case arresting five including a resident of Himachal Pradesh, two residents of Bihar besides two residents of Jharkhand with arms and ammunition.
The one from Himachal Pradesh is Sandeep Kumar. He was part of a three- member strike team who reached the ground on a bike and opened several rounds of fire killing one Kalu Lama and leaving two injured.
Two from Bihar included Gyan Ranjan alias Gyan Prakash and Sonu Quereshi. They were also part of the three -member strike team.
The two from Jharkhand included Ravish Bhardwaj alias Ravinand Bhardwaj, who had given shelter to the criminals at his residence at his rented house in Garhegaon under Khelgaon police station in Ranchi, and Bittu Khan, a resident of Edalhatu under Bariatu police station in Jharkhand capital who kept tab on the movement of Lama.
Senior superintendent of police S.K.Jha informed this at a press conference saying a special investigation team of 19 members made the breakthrough. He said firearms recovered from their possession included one country-made single shot small gun and two country-made pistols. Ammunition included four live cartridges of .315 bore and four cartridges of 7.65 bore.
SSP Jha said the crime was the outcome of gang rivalry.
The incident had taken place on January 27 near the residence of JMM ideologue Shibu Soren.
