Dhanbad, Feb 4: For the second time in 50 years, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) celebrated its foundation day in Dhanbad without founder Shibu Soren today at the Town Hall.

Party MLA Mathura Prasad Mahto and district president Ramesh Tudu jointly unfurled the party flag as a symbolic inauguration of the foundation celebration in the afternoon of Friday. A party official said due to Corona pandemic neither Guruji ( Shibu Soren) nor chief minister Hemant Soren attended the function.

The JMM was founded on the night of February 4, 1973, at Golf Ground of Dhanbad by Shibu Soren, former MP Binod Bihari Mahto and A K Roy. Since then the party has been celebrating the foundation day in Dhanbad every year on February 4.

While inaugurating the function, MLA Mathura Mahto said that whatever party had promised to the people in the assembly election manifesto, the Hemant Soren government is fulfilling one by one.

“Corona pandemic has appeared as a major stumbling block in development work of the government in the last two years. However, the state government is trying to cope with the pandemic situation and is committed to fulfil its promises given to people,” said Mathura Mahto.

District president Ramesh Tudu said that as promised the government has fixed 75% employment for the locals in private and public sectors units in the state. “ The Hemant Soren government is committed to development of the state and it would be done,” he said.
Former central committee member Debu Mahto said that the development work of the Hemant Soren government has baffled the BJP which is disturbing the state government through DVC and other agencies.

JMM Central Committee members Pawan Mahto, Kansari Mandal, Sukhlaal Marandi,Thakur Mahto, Allauddin Ansari Neelam Mishra and others also addressed the function.
