Ranchi, Aug.5: The Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) today expressed its concern over the BJP legislators reaching the Raj Bhavan to prevent the anti-cheating bill taking shape of a law after the governor’s assent.
Party’s senior leader Supriyo Bhattacharya said that it was a concern that the BJP legislators reached before the bill reached the Raj Bhawan. He said this suggests the party’s affiliation with those involved in unfair means and paper leak besides allied activities.
Bhattacharya, whose wife is a JPSC member, said Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan passed a similar bill and enacted the law before the Jharkhand assembly passed it. “If there is anything wrong in it, the BJP should have opposed it in other states also,” he said.
The JMM leader said the BJP has always remained involved in adopting unfair means during competitive examinations and this was the reason two JPSC examinations organized earlier landed in controversy and the CBI had to probe the matter to pave the path for imprisonment of its chairman and members.
Bhattacharya urged the governor to clear the bill as early as possible to ensure organization of fair competitive examinations in the state.
