Ranchi, Aug 2: JMM’s Boriyo legislator Lobin Hembrom raised the issue of threat to his life in the state assembly threatening to knock the door of the centre in case house guards are not provided to him within 15 days.
The firebrand legislator said he had been fighting for water, forest and land since the beginning and now have started feeling threatened by observing the killing of people in their houses. “Din Dahade Ghar mein ghus kar goli maar deta hai,” he mentioned.
Hembrom raised the issue after the House proceedings started at 12.30pm after remaining suspended due to a disturbance over the issue of pointing finger towards JMM legislator Sudivya Kumar Sonu by BJP MLA Dhullu Mahto.
Hembrom said he had only two security guards and his house guards had been withdrawn. He said he had earlier written to the DGP and the Centre but no action was taken in the matter. He said he feels his security is important as he has become an eyesore of those running illegal crusher units and involved in illegal mining.
A few minutes after Hembrom raised the issue, the speaker adjourned the house till 2pm before directing the in-charge minister to look into the matter.
Before the House was adjourned, legislators raised the issues of public concern, including constitution of a commission to handle the cases of displacement, construction of roads and no proper reply to legislators’ questions in the house besides others.
