JMM to support UPA candidate for Vice President post

Ranchi, Aug 3: Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) has decided to support Margaret Alva, the UPA candidate for the post of Vice President, in the upcoming Vice-Presidential elections on August 6.

 JMM President Shibu Soren issued an order in this regard to all the party MLAs and MPs. He has instructed them to vote for the UPA candidate in the Vice-Presidential polls on August 6.

 Alva is a former central minister and former Governor of Rajasthan. UPA has decided to field Alva as their Vice Presidential candidate. NCP chief Sharad Pawar had announced her candidacy.

 Meanwhile, the BJP-led NDA has fielded former West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar as its candidate for the post of Vice President.
