Ranchi: JMM candidate Baidyanath Ram, Congress candidate Pranav Jha, and independent candidate Parimal Nathwani filed their nomination papers for the Rajya Sabha on Monday. The NDA has extended its support to independent candidate Parimal Nathwani.
Voting Across 10 States on June 18
Rajya Sabha elections are scheduled for June 18 across 24 seats from 10 states. The seat distribution includes four seats each from Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, and Karnataka; three each from Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan; two from Jharkhand; and one each from Manipur, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and Mizoram.
Key Dates for the Election Process
According to the Election Commission, today was the last day for filing nomination papers. Scrutiny of nominations will take place on June 9, and candidates can withdraw their names until June 11. Vote counting will begin at 5 pm on June 18.
