Ranchi, Sept.21: Voice of protest against Hemant Soren’s cabinet decision of making 1932 Khatiyan base for identifying locals is getting louder.
This was reflected during a meeting of Jharkhand Navnirman Manch (JNM) at Jamuna Nagar, Harmu, where those who turned up to participate in the meeting said that the decision was not acceptable to them. They were in favour of making November 15, 2000 as the cut-off date to identify locals and were in favour of organizing a massive agitation against it.
JNM President Kailash Yadav presided over the meeting.
Yadav said that the Mahagathbandhan government has cheated 80 percent of the state’s population by bringing the 1932 Khatiyan proposal. The Congress and the RJD involved in the government supporting it will also have to pay a big price.
Yadav said that ever since the JNM has made an official announcement to oppose Khatian in 1932, the government is constantly trying to put administrative pressure on him.
He said that Jharkhand Navnirman Manch was created on September 18 for a mass movement in a democratic manner against the government’s local policy but the government is anticipating trouble from it and has left no stone unturned to disturb the organization.
“After the announcement of protest the Ranchi Subdivision Court sent a notice exercising its power under section 107 of CrPC to me and my 5 other colleagues on WhatsApp,” Yadav said before saying that the exercise will be futile to throttle the voice of people.
Manch’s Mahanagar president Yogendra Sharma said that he will accompany Yadav to the SDO court tomorrow at 11 o’clock and give reply to the notice issued under section 107 of CrPC.
“We are living in Ranchi since the time of unified Bihar for 70-80 years, the government is trying to make people homeless by introducing a controversial local policy,” he said
