Ranchi, Dec 11: The Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has disqualified 49 candidates who were provisionally qualified the 7th to 10th Civil Services PT examinations by providing them with the cut-off marks.

The JPSC took the decision a day after the agitating JPSC candidates met Governor Ramesh Bais over the irregularities in JPSC’s PT examination with the evidence of rigging.

The JPSC through its official notification has notified that due to the unavailability of the OMR answer sheets on November 1 with the commission they declared 49 of them provisionally qualified so as to prevent the delay in declaration of results.

The JPSC also notified that the remaining 8 candidates could not be declared qualified due to other valid grounds particular to their cases.

According to the JPSC, the cut-off marks will not vary after the removal of 49 candidates from the list as they have been awarded marks equivalent to the cut-off marks.

Reacting to the JPSC decision, Jharkhand state president of BJP and Rajya Sabha member Deepak Prakash said that his stand on the issue has been vindicated. “An FIR should be lodged against the culprits responsible for the bungling,” he maintained.

He had earlier raised question regarding provisional result, saying there is no such provision under the JPSC rules.
