Ranchi, May 20: Jharkhand Public Service Commission (JPSC) has released the result of the main examination conducted for the appointment of 637 assistant engineers. A total of 1281 candidates have been selected in the main examination making it two and a half times the number of the post.
Notably, of the 637 posts, 228 civil engineer posts in the road construction department and 288 in the water resources department are available, for which 1056 have been selected in the main examination.
At the same time, for the 84 posts in the Water Resources Department and 11 posts of Mechanical Engineers in the Drinking Water Sanitation Department, a total of 225 candidates have been selected in the Main Examination. The interview of the selected candidates will be taken from May 30 to June 15 whereas the scrutiny of the papers of the candidates will start on May 29.
Meanwhile, the result of roll number 10522648 for civil engineer and roll number 10535604 for mechanical engineer will be cleared for interview only after paper verification.
Notably, the main exam was held from October 22 to 24, 2021. Of the total 637 assistant engineers, 542 civil engineers and 95 mechanical engineers are to be appointed. The preliminary examination was conducted on January 19, 2020, after the commission invited applications in October 2019. PT Results were then released on August 14, 2020.
It is also worth noting that after this the main examination was scheduled to be held on January 24, 2021, however, JPSC had to postpone the examination as the issue of reservation for EWS had reached the High Court by then. Later, in light of the directions of the court, the main examination was organized from October 22 to 24, 2021.
Department wise posts include 228 posts for the Road Construction department, 288 posts for the Water Resources department, 1056 posts for civil engineering, 84 posts in the Water Resources department, 11 in the Drinking Water and Sanitation department, and 25 posts for mechanical engineers.
