New Delhi, May 20: The Supreme Court on Friday granted the Justice Raveendran committee, which is investigating the Pegasus scandal, more time for the probe.
The committee requested a second delay to file the report. The Supreme Court granted an extension, now the report has to be submitted by June 20.
The committee had developed its own software to check devices, according to Chief Justice of India NV Ramana, and had received responses from government entities. The Pegasus technical committee said it is still working on a standard operating procedure for testing devices. By the end of May, it will be completed.
The technical committee was given time by the bench of CJI Justice NV Ramana, Justice Surya Kant, and Justice Hima Kohli to submit a report to Justice Raveendran. Raveendran was also asked to submit his final report to the court on June 20. The case’s next hearing is scheduled for July.
