Ranchi: The CID investigation into alleged irregularities in the Jharkhand Public Service Commission examination has revealed significant details about the role of former chief secretary and ex-JPSC chairman L. Khyangte, including findings that he visited the JPSC office after a raid and attempted to delete important data from office computers.
Khyangte Allegedly Tried to Remove Data and Documents
According to the investigation, Khyangte attempted to carry away certain data using a pen drive, and the probe also found that he took some important documents from the commission’s office. Given the seriousness of the matter, CID also conducted action at his residence, recovering several documents relevant to the investigation.
CID Issues Repeated Notices, Eventually Arrests Khyangte
Following this, CID issued repeated notices summoning Khyangte for questioning. Based on facts that emerged during questioning and evidence gathered during the investigation, legal proceedings against him advanced, ultimately leading to his arrest and judicial custody.
Computer Operator Dharmendra’s Role Also Under Scrutiny
The role of computer operator Dharmendra Kumar Paswan, arrested earlier in connection with the alleged JPSC exam irregularities, is also considered significant in the investigation. According to the probe, Dharmendra was in contact with representatives of TDPL, the private agency responsible for conducting the exam, and it was through this connection that he established contact with then-JPSC chairman Khyangte.
Dharmendra Allegedly Facilitated Meetings Between Agency and Khyangte
According to the investigating agency, Dharmendra played a role in arranging meetings between agency representatives and Khyangte, following which several important facts related to exam operations and alleged irregular transactions came under investigation. The CID probe also found that after sensing possible arrest, Dharmendra attempted to use his contacts and influence to evade action. The agency is now investigating others in contact with him and the broader network linked to the examination.
Investigation Continues to Uncover Wider Network
As the investigation into the alleged JPSC exam irregularities progresses, the roles of former chairman L. Khyangte and several others continue to come to light. CID is now piecing together the case using available documents, digital data and facts gathered through questioning.
