Mumbai: Senior Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leader and former Punjab Deputy CM Sukhbir Singh Badal was reportedly attacked by a Nihang in Nanded, Maharashtra, sustaining injuries that led to his hospitalisation, where he remains under medical care.

Attack Took Place Inside Gurudwara with Sharp Weapon

According to reports, the attack occurred inside a gurudwara located in the Mata Sahib Kaur area of Nanded, where a Nihang assaulted Badal with a sharp weapon, a kripan, leaving him injured on his right hand.

Badal Admitted to Private Hospital, One Person Detained

Badal has been admitted to the private Yashosai Hospital, where he is receiving treatment. According to sources, police have detained one individual in connection with the incident. Security around Badal has since been significantly strengthened following the attack.
