Ranchi, Sept 23: After the unfortunate stampede at Gymkhana ground in Hyderabad on Thursday during the sale of IND-AUS T20I tickets, the Jharkhand State Cricket Association (JSCA) has written a letter to the Ranchi DC requesting extra security with regard to IND-SA ODI which is scheduled to take place on October 9.
The Media Representative of JSCA Jai Kumar Sinha confirmed this and said that as it is a big event, they will require extra force to manage the crowd.
“What happened in Hyderabad is really unfortunate and should not happen anywhere. As the offline ticket sale will start from Oct 6 for three days, we have requested the Ranchi administration to provide us with extra security forces till the match is over. Tickets will be sold across 6 to 8 ticket counters and there will be different counters for females,” he said.
Moreover, one person shall be eligible to buy only three tickets and it will be mandatory for the buyer to produce a copy of his/her Aadhaar Card while purchasing the tickets. Keeping in mind the convenience of people the Association has decided to sell tickets online through the web portal www.insider.in as well.
Regarding the incident in Hyderabad which resulted in the death of one person on Thursday, more than 10,000 people gathered outside the gate of Gymkhana ground waiting for ticket sales to start but mismanagement by HCA and a sudden downpour led to the incident.
